These luxurious properties offer guests a variety of accommodation options with a choice of beachfront, overwater, and desert locations…
It’s not too early to start dreaming of your next escape to Saudi Arabia’s much-anticipated luxury destination, The Red Sea Project.
Located along the western coast of the Kingdom, between the cities of Umluj and Al Wajh, the project will be creating a unique travel destination within a pristine 28,000 square kilometre area.
Imagine being surrounded by untouched coastline and islands, dormant volcanoes, rich nature and marine habitats, alongside ancient archaeological sites.
The Red Sea Project’s first phase of development is on track for completion by the end of 2023, with a total of 16 hotels set to offer 3,000 hotel rooms across five islands and two inland sites.
Nine of the world’s most luxurious hotel and resort brands have been revealed recently. However, there’s plenty still to come, with 1,234 additional rooms in the pipeline for the first phase.
But here’s an overview of the first nine properties currently under development in phase one of The Red Sea Project.

Each of InterContinental resort’s 210 sea-facing rooms will provide beach access, allowing guests to step out onto the sands of the Red Sea from the terrace. This is also where the hotel’s signature Earth Lab is, an ecology area showcasing their sustainability efforts to reduce consumption, produce locally, and support communities and ecosystems.
The Artisan Village will host four pods to showcase the region’s history and cultural heritage through arts and crafts, dance, and music. The all-day dining restaurant is complemented by a chef’s table and cooking school, along with a juice bar, water bar and brew bar.
The open-plan villas – ranging from one to four bedrooms – at Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea are inspired by the dunes and provide a peaceful setting to enjoy the serenity of the pristine desert landscape.
Each room features an outdoor terrace to allow guests the chance to connect with nature. There will also be a Six Senses spa and a swimming pool.
