Plus, Saudia is launching an additional 10 routes…

If you’ve been dreaming of a European getaway, it will soon be easier to turn that into a reality. Saudi Arabia’s flagship carrier, Saudia, is launching flights from the kingdom to Zurich, Switzerland and Barcelona, Spain.

Swiss chocolates and Gaudí architecture will be now be a direct flight away. In July, Saudia’s flights to Barcelona will depart from Jeddah and run twice a week. In August, Saudia’s flights to Zurich will depart from Riyadh and run twice a week.

Captain Ibrahim Koshy said: “This agreement coincides with one of the most prominent goals of Saudia, which is bringing the world to the kingdom by expanding operations to new international destinations and making sure that we are providing more flights and seat capacity for our current network, which recently exceeded 100 destinations after launching a number of new destinations in the past months.”

Khalil Lamrabet, CEO of the National Air Connectivity Program, added: “These new non-stop routes will positively affect tourism traffic from Spain and Switzerland by providing a more convenient option to travel and experience Saudi Tourism. We are confident that this partnership will provide a promising platform for additional Air Connectivity growth in support of the kingdom’s tourism sector.”

Our wanderlust is peaking, as Saudia will also launch an additional 10 new routes. The routes cover Amsterdam, Netherlands; Entebbe, Uganda; Bangkok, Thailand; Marrakech, Morocco; Malaga, Spain; Moscow, Russia; Beijing, China; Mykonos, Greece; Seoul, South Korea; and Chicago, USA. Happy travelling.
