You'll soon be able to fly from Dammam to Rome, Vienna and Abu Dhabi

Wizz Air is launching the new routes at the end of September 2022…

Travellers looking to fly out of Saudi Arabia will have new destinations to select from as Europe’s low-cost airline Wizz Air is introducing new routes to Europe and the UAE.

From September, the carrier will commence flights to Rome and Vienna from Dammam, while the first flight from Dammam to Abu Dhabi will begin on November 2. While services will not start until then, booking is open now for passengers wanting to plan ahead.

Flights to Rome

From September 28, Wizz Air will begin a new service from Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport to Rome, operating a twice-weekly direct flight.

A heady mix of haunting ruins, awe-inspiring art and vibrant street life, Italy’s capital is one of the world’s most romantic, historic and charismatic cities. The city’s centre is on the Unesco World Heritage List, and the Eternal City has over 900 churches and 3,000 years of ad-hoc urban development to explore, with countless basilicas, piazzas and statues. Unmissable sights include St Peter’s Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and the Colosseum.

Flights to Vienna

Then, on September 30, two new direct flights per week from Dammam will be added, servicing the Austrian city of Vienna, known for its rich history and architecture and reachable in less than six hours.

Located on the banks of the Danube River, Vienna has many great sightseeing opportunities and an unmistakably cosmopolitan atmosphere. It is also one of the world’s greenest and most visited cities and is renowned for its Imperial Palaces and magnificent museums.

Flights to Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi route will be operated by Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, Wizz Air’s joint venture airline with ADQ. Operating four times per week starting on November 2, the new route means travellers can easily explore the wonders of the UAE’s capital.

Affordable travel opportunities

The new destinations are the first step towards a growing presence in the Kingdom. And thanks to Wizz Air, it makes flying more affordable for KSA residents by offering the lowest fares.

What’s more, with WIZZ Flex, passengers can cancel their flight up to three hours before departure without any fee and receive 100 per cent of the fare immediately reimbursed in airline credit.
