Looking for a school that suits your child’s educational needs? One World International School (OWIS), the fastest growing international school from Singapore under the aegis of the Global Schools Foundation (GSF), opens its first school campus in Riyadh.
The new international school welcomes students from Pre-Kindergarten (age three years) to Grade 4 (ages eleven and twelve). It is one of the schools in Riyadh accredited to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), following an American curriculum based on Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
Situated in Al Muruj on Olaya Street, OWIS embraces kindness at the core of its foundation while striving to enhance cultural awareness and tolerance in line with Riyadh’s multicultural community.
This new vibrant school offers modern, state-of-the-art infrastructure within a digital environment, designed to impart 21st-century learning abilities to make students curious explorers. OWIS will develop each student’s academic potential and incorporate the social development aspects of student learning into their everyday experiences.
Furthermore, OWIS strives to support students to achieve academic excellence through its comprehensive and holistic educational programmes, including arts, sports, music, languages, coding, robotics, design and technology, and STEM-related studies.
Singapore Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan launches the over 22,796-square-meter Riyadh campus in a momentous opening ceremony, alongside Singapore Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Wong Chow Ming, Mazen Ahmed Tammar, Senior Advisor to CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), GSF chairman and co-founder Atul Temurnikar.
Also present at the ceremony are RCRC delegates Hala Halawani, Ziad Bin Hassan, Khaled Sabban, Maryam Alasmar, Dr Michael Klees, and Jorge Urteaga. The GSF team included Amol Vaidya, Senior Director of Operations, and Founding Principal of OWIS Riyadh Shannon Pipes.
“We are attracting prestigious international schools that cater to all sections of the population and contributing to the transformational journey of Riyadh to become one of the best global cities in terms of quality of life for residents and expatriates. RCRC welcomes Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Dr Balakrishnan and is confident Singapore’s expertise in international education will help enhance this sector in Riyadh,” Mazen stated.
The first independent, Singapore-headquartered school is part of GSF, a foundation recognised as the world’s most awarded network of schools by the World Book of Records. GSF has received more than 400 international awards for academic excellence and best practices in education.
