Singapore’s One World International School opens Riyadh campus

Looking for a school that suits your child’s educational needs? One World International School (OWIS), the fastest growing international school from Singapore under the aegis of the Global Schools Foundation (GSF), opens its first school campus in Riyadh.

The new international school welcomes students from Pre-Kindergarten (age three years) to Grade 4 (ages eleven and twelve). It is one of the schools in Riyadh accredited to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), following an American curriculum based on Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

Singapore Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan launches the over 22,796-square-meter Riyadh campus in a momentous opening ceremony, alongside Singapore Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Wong Chow Ming, Mazen Ahmed Tammar, Senior Advisor to CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), GSF chairman and co-founder Atul Temurnikar.

Also present at the ceremony are RCRC delegates Hala Halawani, Ziad Bin Hassan, Khaled Sabban, Maryam Alasmar, Dr Michael Klees, and Jorge Urteaga. The GSF team included Amol Vaidya, Senior Director of Operations, and Founding Principal of OWIS Riyadh Shannon Pipes.

The first independent, Singapore-headquartered school is part of GSF, a foundation recognised as the world’s most awarded network of schools by the World Book of Records. GSF has received more than 400 international awards for academic excellence and best practices in education.
