OVO, a buzzing Cirque du Soleil spectacular, comes to Riyadh

Get ready for a special kind of circus coming to town. The high-energy acrobatic production of Cirque Du Soleil will be returning to Riyadh this week.
From Wednesday October 12 to Saturday December 3, the new Cirque Du Soleil experience OVO will bring an enchanting 100-minute performance and stage 63 shows at Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University.
Through show-stopping acrobatics highlighting the unique personalities and abilities of selected insect species, OVO explores the beauty of biodiversity in all its contrasts and vibrancy.
OVO, meaning “egg” in Portuguese, leads a sweet story of a colony of insects with creatures including crickets, scarabs, dragonflies, ants, spiders and a cute little ladybug. The wondrous experience takes the audience on a journey as the colony meets a new insect that carries on his back an ovo (or egg) with him, loses the egg to the colony, gets tricked, and subsequently falls in love with the ladybug.
From mighty crickets bouncing off trampolines to hypnotic spiders contorting inside their webs, OVO exudes extraordinary showmanship to tickle the imagination. Funny and chaotic, yet adorable and wonderful, OVO will charm our inner child with its sweet exuberance. Plus, you can expect rhythmic music in each act to lure you into the story and a bit of cheeky humour.
Since its opening in Montreal in 2009, OVO has thrilled more than 7 million people in 155 cities in 26 countries.
