5 brilliant moments from The Truth fight night in Riyadh

The truth has been revealed…

The Truth fight night is officially over. We witnessed history here in Diriyah yesterday. The most highly-anticipated match of the evening was the twice-postponed Paul vs Fury.

While that was the biggest fight, the night had many more exciting things to catch up with. If you missed out on the action, it’s all good. Here are all the epic moments from The Truth fight night.

Ragad AlNaimi’s made a winning debut

As part of the undercard for The Truth fight night, Saudi’s very first female boxer Ragad AlNaimi made her professional debut against Perpetual Okaidah. Making history after a rigorous fight, Ragad AlNaimi won by means of a technical knockout.

Ziyad ‘Zizo” AlMayouf wins

Local hero Ziyad, better known by his nickname of ‘Zizo’ AlMayouf stepped into the ring against Ecuador’s Ronald Martinez. Often hailed by some as “The Pride of the Arab World,” Zizo emerged victorious after a tough match against Martinez. Go green.

The first Muslim WBC world cruiserweight champion was crowned

The co-main event of the evening was when WBC World Cruiserweight champion Ilunga Junior Makabu of Johannesburg took on Badou Jack ‘Jack the Ripper’ for the title. Makabu lost his title in the 12th and final round of the fight, and ‘Jack the Ripper’ was then awarded the massive title of WBC World Cruiserweight champion. He’s also the first-ever Muslim to have won it.

Tommy TNT Fury’s split decision win

The main event of the night was the highly awaited Paul vs Fury match. Eight rounds of world-class boxing action by both boxers, but alas, one had to come out on top. Winning by a split decision by the judges, Tommy ‘TNT’ Fury won. Jake Paul does have a rematch clause in all his boxing agreements, and there were talks of a possible rematch between the two soon. Are you ready for round two?
