Be there or be square… Famous New York pizza spot, Emmy Squared, opened its doors in Jeddah for the first time on Wednesday. Jeddah foodies can now try the iconic Detroit-style square-shaped pizza at Jeddah Yacht Club. Combining its New York-style grandma pie with a Detroit-style pizza, Emmy Squared’s fluffy focaccia-like dough is edged with a caramelized, crispy cheese known as the brand’s signature ‘frico’ crust.

Backstreet’s back, alright

Don’t miss this cool stunt show

The Italian mafia-inspired stunt show, The Black Rose, is taking place at City Walk from May 10 to June 7. The show starts at 8pm and tickets are priced at SAR100 which includes entry to City Walk.

Make your own crochet Mushaf cover

The Islamic Arts Biennale has been extended by a month, so you can now enjoy all the workshops, talks, exhibitions, and more until May 23. This Friday, visitors can discover the art of crocheting in this two-day course priced at SAR200 per person. During the calming activity, guests will design their very own mushaf (qur’an) cover using beautiful colours and Islamic motifs. The sessions are taking place on May 12 and May 13 from 7pm to 10pm.

Take a day trip to the ‘Maldives of Jeddah’

Bayada Island, around a 40-minute boat ride from the city, is known for its turquoise coral-filled waters, picture-perfect white sand, and gives the Maldives a run for its money. The five hour day trip from Jeddah to Bayada Island includes snacks, drinks, and is supervised by a snorkel coach and all the gear. As well as snorkeling, there are so many different activities on offer including water volleyball, fishing, and of course swimming in the crystal clear water. Read, eat, and relax at Locals Café

Guaranteed to brighten up your mornings, this cosy pet-friendly cafe displays secondhand books for you to enjoy over a coffee and croissant. The library is run by the Monochrome Bookstore and guests can buy the books to give them a second life. Open from 7am, the menu features dishes such as grilled sandwiches, avocado on toast, and freshly baked cookies.
