There’s something very welcoming, familiar and comforting in the smell of freshly baked bread, and this is at the heart of the offering at Elements Artisanal Bakery, which has just opened at Via Mercato in Via Riyadh.
An offsite venue managed by Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Centre, it perfectly showcases the hotel’s product range and culinary craftsmanship. Its treats are made using only the finest whole-wheat organic flour and grains and classic recipes with a long fermentation process to create wholesome bread. Chemical additives, preservatives, and artificial colourings typically found in processed bread have no place on the bakery’s menu.
Don’t miss out on the loaves of onion, mixed seed, and multi-grain German rye high in fibre or the sourdough and multi-grain French baguettes, perfect for picnics. Also, check out the sourdough Italian focaccia, which has an unmistakably chewy texture.
Fancy something tangy? Elements Artisanal Bakery’s pull-apart loaves of bread are available in sourdough, rosemary and EVOO focaccia, as well as sea salt and EVOO pull-apart.
Hot sellers such as the assorted array of croissants – from pain au chocolat and zaatar to buttery, lighter-than-air traditional and cheese – look almost too good to eat. The layers are distinctly fanned out and provide a great crisp to the pastry.
If you need to satisfy your sweet tooth, give the brioche plait with rock sugar and vanilla Berliner a go. We’re also eyeing the gluten-free muffins available in blueberry, chocolate, and carrot & zucchini.
And don’t get us started on its tasty range of pretzels – a good snack for munching on while you window shop around Via Riyadh.
“The bread and pastries of Elements Artisanal Bakery are great additions to any occasion as well as to the culinary scene in Riyadh,” said Sven Mostegl, consultant baker of Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh, who trained the hotel’s bakers and conceived the offerings on the menu.
