Riyadh Air snags unique airline code RX for its flights

Eyes on the skies…

The new national airline carrier: Riyadh Air, is set to be launched soon. Backed by none other than Crown Prince, HRH Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), Riyadh Air is set to mark a new era of travel on a global scale. And now they’ve acquired a brand-new Riyadh Air Airline Designator Code from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

The news was announced during the first official engagement of Riyadh Air with the world of aviation. The airline made its first public appearance since the official announcement back in March.

Riyadh Air is set to have an advanced fleet of aircrafts with the latest cutting-edge technology, making for a smooth sailing type of flight once it’s launched. The airline plans on launching its first flight by 2025 and connecting over 100 destinations all over the world by 2030.

Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air, said: “We are delighted to announce that we have obtained “RX” as our IATA code, which will be on every touchpoint that our guests see as they take flight with us. The code reflects our ambition to be a digitally-led airline, having the connection of innovation and state-of-the-art technology.”

The carrier operational hub will be Riyadh and set to connect the capital to more than 100 destinations globally as part of Vision 2030. The airline will mark a new era of travel globally and will provide tourists from all over the world a chance to witness Saudi Arabia’s cultural and natural attractions.
