Saudi Arabia to launch new national airline carrier: Riyadh Air

Get ready to catch a flight. A new national airline carrier: Riyadh Air is set to be launched soon.

The carrier operational hub will be Riyadh and set to connect the capital to more than 100 destinations globally as part of Vision 2030.

The airline will mark a new era of travel globally and will provide tourists from all over the world a chance to witness Saudi Arabia’s cultural and natural attractions.

The company will be owned fully by the Public Investment Fund (PIF). The new airline will be chaired by His Excellency Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Governor of PIF.

While the new CEO is Tony Douglas, who has more than 40 years of experience in the aviation, transportation and logistics industries.

Additionally, the new airline carrier represents PIF’s latest investment in the sector. It also falls in line with the new King Salman International Airport that is set to launch soon too.

The airline is set to have an advanced fleet of aircrafts with the latest cutting-edge technology. Are you ready for take-off?

The airline will also act as a catalyst for the Saudi National Transport and Logistics Strategy and the National Tourism Strategy by providing more air transport options, raising cargo capacity and, in turn, growing international passenger traffic.

As an added plus, Riyadh Air aims to add USD20 billion to non-oil GDP growth and create more than 200,000 direct and indirect jobs. Talk about making big moves.
