Restaurant Review: Robata's summer specials
The new Japanese restaurant is in full swing…
Riyadh restaurants have a knack for being some of the best, and the Japanese ones go wild out here. And Modern Food Company (MFC Saudi) always rolls out the best ones with the best menus. Luckily for us, Robata’s summer specials just launched.
From the people behind the incredibly popular upscale Japanese restaurant Myazu and casual eatery Kayzo, Robata is now open at The Canopy in Hittin.

The lively restaurant’s downstairs seating area has insane views of the Robata and the open kitchen from every table. The venue is also home to one of the best sound systems we’ve ever heard, so the vibes are incredibly vibrant and upbeat.
Robata Riyadh also has wonderful wooden accents throughout the space and plush cushioned couches and royal blue comfy seats too.

The upstairs area is perfect for families and couples or if you’re just out to treat yourself, as it’s a more intimate space. The venue is also home to one of the best outdoor terraces in town, which is just been closed for the summer. Come fall and winter, the area is going to be the one to beat.
All about the new summer menu…
Sipping on our summery mocktail, Raimu (SAR59) which is made with pineapple, blue raspberry, apple, lime and mint, we make our way through the summer menu.
For starters, we tucked into the flavourful smoked salmon crispy rice (SAR65) which was incredibly refreshing, and the delicious Japanese scallops (SAR265).
Then moving on to the mains, we enjoyed a perfectly cooked medium rare black Angus fillet (SAR265) served with confit potatoes, black garlic aioli and yuzu kosho bearnaise along with the flaky, incredibly grilled black cod (SAR235) cooked in miso anticucho.
And if you’ve grown up eating chocolate eggs, there’s an elevated version at Robata that you simply must try called the White Chocolate Hazlenut egg (SAR89).
If you’ve been on the hunt for the perfect light and airy summer menu that won’t leave you feeling too full and dreary, this is the one for you.
