Saudi Arabia announces plans to host its first official fashion week

Bespoke fashion galore is making its way to the Kingdom…

If you’ve been patiently waiting for Saudi Arabia to debut its very own version of fashion week, you’re in luck as plans for Saudi Fashion Week have been officially announced.

The Saudi Fashion Commission announced this at an event held at Paris’s Hôtel d’Évreux according to Arab NewsThe event will be happening from October 20 until October 23 in Riyadh.

Burak Cakmak, CEO of the Saudi Fashion Commission, said: “Saudi fashion brands have already participated in Paris and Milan fashion weeks to showcase their talent on the global stage, impressing fashion professionals and enthusiasts around the world. For the first time ever, we now invite the fashion community to our home during this historic event.”

During the Paris event, the first-ever “State of Fashion in the Kingdom” report (which offers a deep dive into the country’s fashion industry and showcases the depth of the number of opportunities in the Kingdom) was also revealed in the form of a book stitched into a dress by Saudi brand Atelier Hekayat.

It’s safe to say that this event will be one for the history books.
