Pristine nature, the source of its abundant resources, has been a feature of the Aseer region for decades. With Aseer Season 2023 – part of the Saudi Seasons initiatives – taking place, now’s the perfect time to plan a trip to the southwest of Saudi Arabia.

Now in its second edition, the festival offers a delightful range of music, dining, and family-friendly activities, promising weeks of excitement and entertainment for visitors of all ages.

Here’s all you need to know about Aseer Season 2023.

The Aseer Season 2023 started on July 15 and will continue until September 1, showcasing the region’s heritage and nature. Reflecting the slogan “Cold and Rainy Summer,” there are 15 dedicated areas hosting various events focusing on music, sports, and culture.

Aseer

Abha Gala

One of the highlights of Aseer Season is the Abha Gala, where visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty of the namesake city while enjoying panoramic views.

Aseer Sports Programme

For those seeking an adrenaline rush, the Aseer family-friendly integrated sports programme is the place to be. Whether you’re a sports enthusiast or simply looking to try something new, the range of sports activities – from hiking in the rough terrain to cycling and camping – guarantees a fun-filled and action-packed experience.

Glamping Experience in Tanuma

Escape to Tanuma, where a luxurious and secluded glamping experience awaits. Nestled in the heart of nature, the glamping site offers comfort, luxury, and breathtaking views from each tent. As you bask in the tranquillity of your surroundings, you’ll be attended to by the attentive staff at the Husaak Centre, ensuring that your every need is met during your stay. The glamping experience in Tanuma combines the best of both worlds, so you can connect with nature while indulging in the comforts of a well-appointed retreat.

Heritage Villages and Tourist Farms in Aseer

Aseer boasts a myriad of attractions and historical landmarks. Take the time to visit Anaab Farm, where you can learn about the region’s agricultural heritage and witness the traditional farming practices. Historical Tabaab offers a glimpse into the rich history of Aseer, with its ancient structures and captivating stories. Al Masgi Heritage Village allows you to step back in time and experience the cultural traditions and customs of the region. Meanwhile, Abo Sarrah Palaces showcase the architectural grandeur of the past, leaving you in awe of the intricate craftsmanship. Lastly, don’t miss the opportunity to visit The Mohammed Bin Adhwan Al Ahmari Museum, where you can delve into the fascinating history and culture of Aseer.

Medhal

An area filled with vibrant shops and delectable food stalls, Medhal aims to highlight the beautiful landscapes of Aseer, providing visitors with a breathtaking view of Abha’s highest peaks through a series of enchanting musical performances every 30 minutes. As you explore this bustling hub, you’ll be immersed in the lively ambience and discover a treasure trove of delights for all your senses.

Nafas

You’ll find various restaurants and cafes here, where you can enjoy your meals at outdoor seating areas overlooking the stunning natural landscapes. As you savour delicious dishes, the picturesque surroundings will add an extra touch of magic to your dining experience. The event also boasts games and fun-filled activities, plus traditional crafts by local artisans and vendors.

Sair

Sair promises a plethora of exciting experiences amidst nature and towering mountains. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the outdoors and take part in a yoga session under the night sky, surrounded by the tranquillity of nature. You can also explore Sair Alfursan to visit the stunning horse stables and equestrian tracks.

Sair, 3pm to 10.30pm. The price starts from SAR75 for a yoga session and SAR25 for horse riding. Tickets can be purchased here.

Terhab

Terhaab is divided into two main areas, each offering its own attractions ranging from sports to recreational activities and more.

The Art Street and Muftaha Village

Here, you will find a delightful array of restaurants, cafes, and games, ensuring there is something for everyone. As you wander through the Art Street walkway, you’ll feel immersed in the local culture and ambience, surrounded by the vibrant energy of the Aseer region.
