Noor Riyadh 2023 is coming back on this date

The city will be lighting up again…

It’s looking a little brighter out here in the capital and it’s definitely because the annual Noor Riyadh 2023 is officially happening.

Noor Riyadh 2023 will return to the city on Thursday November 30 and will continue until Tuesday December 16.

The third edition will be themed ‘The Bright Side of the Desert Moon,’ and will showcase over 120 artworks across five hubs in Riyadh

The incredible festival is coming back to Riyadh this November and will be accompanied by a contemporary light art exhibition featuring artworks selected by Lead Curator Neville Wakefield alongside Curator Maya Al Athel.

It’s the largest light art festival in the world and this year’s artwork installations will be selected by lead curator Jérôme Sans alongside curators Pedro Alonzo, Alaa Tarabzouni, and Fahad bin Naif.

Last year’s theme, “We Dream of New Horizons,” inspired visitors to foster hope for the future and engage the world with positivity and optimism, especially to better understand the renewal and transformation that the Kingdom is witnessing. So we can only imagine what this year’s version has in store.

Noor Riyadh endeavours to enhance community interaction and to spread the manifestations of art and beauty in the city by promoting art in public spaces, fostering the local art movement, and encouraging more creativity and innovation.

The event is part of Riyadh Art, one of the four major projects under the mandate of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City that aim to turn the capital into “a gallery without walls”.

His Highness Prince Badr bin Farhan Al-Saud, chairman of the steering committee for Riyadh Art, said: “Noor Riyadh honours Riyadh’s rich cultural heritage and areas of natural beauty through a carefully curated program, whilst creating a dialogue between tradition and modernity and the city’s past and future.”
