A major esports competition is coming to the Saudi capital. HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, just announced the launch of the Riyadh Esports World Cup.

The largest global competition of its kind, the Esports World Cup, will be held annually in Riyadh starting in the summer of 2024.

The new event will provide a platform to support the gaming and esports sectors and to firmly plant the Kingdom’s position as a hub for international esports and sports competitions.

The launch of the Esports World Cup showcases the Kingdom’s constant efforts to sustain and grow the esports sector while also expanding the entertainment and sports industries within the country and globally. The event will grow the Kingdom’s GDP by more than SAR50 billion by 2030 and create 39,000 new job opportunities for citizens, residents, and visitors.

HRH Crown Prince says, “The Esports World Cup is the natural next step in Saudi Arabia’s journey to become the premier global hub for gaming and esports, offering an unmatched esports experience that pushes the boundaries of the industry.”
