The event kicks off this weekend…

It’s officially event season out here in Riyadh. With Riyadh Season and Diriyah Season taking over the capital, it’s safe to say there’s a ton happening in the capital, including European Music Week in Riyadh.

Happening from Saturday November 11 to Monday November 20 at the Saudi Music Hub, the eight concerts are set to take the capital by storm.

The culturally focused event aims to introduce the richness of the European musical scene to the local audience, highlight the cultural diversity of Europe, and forge connections between European and Saudi music professionals.

During the week, you can enjoy concerts by nine amazing European artists coming from Portugal, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Estonia, Greece and the Netherlands.

The fun week of concerts will be organised by the European Union Delegation to Saudi Arabia in collaboration with the Embassies of the EU Member States, the Saudi Music Commission and the Saudi Music Hub.

The concerts will be kicked off by Portuguese artist, Almanata, a musical group of Portuguese friends living in Riyadh, on Saturday November 11, followed by Louise Tuxen from Denmark on Sunday November 12, and the Arcis Saxophon Quartett from Germany on Monday November 13.

On Tuesday November 14, you can look forward to a performance by France’s Cynthia Queenton, Wednesday November 15, we’ll be seeing the Società dei Concerti di Milano from Italy. You can view the full program here.

Besides attending a variety of engaging concerts, you can also take part in two free, dedicated workshops by visiting European artists like the Estonian music group Ehale, where you can learn a traditional folk tune from their region.

The second workshop will be hosted by the Rembrandt Frerichs Trio from the Netherlands. Here, you can experience the rich tapestry of jazz.
