Staycation review: Assila, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Jeddah

When in Jeddah, this gorgeous hotel is where you want to go…

Very few hotels check all the boxes, but we believe that Assila, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Jeddah, may be one of the rare ones that do.

Located in central Jeddah, on the very happening Tahlia Street (not to be confused with Riyadh’s very own lively Tahlia district), this is where Assila starts to win our hearts. The hotel is within walking distance from a couple of amazing local restaurants and cafes (not that we would recommend walking in the Jeddah heat), and it’s mostly a five-minute drive away from all the hubs too.

Driving into the hotel, a sense of calm washed all over us. Maybe it was the stunning fountain up front or the cheery smiles of the staff eagerly waiting to help us out, but we already knew it would be a good stay.

The hotel boasts a selection of spacious apartments, ranging from one-bedroom studio apartments to four-bedroom penthouse accommodations, a variety of deluxe guest rooms, and junior, executive, and panoramic suites too.

We checked into one of the panoramic suites, which offered, you guessed it, panoramic views of the incredible Jeddah skyline, a lounging area that could easily be separated from the master bedroom to keep up privacy, and an all-marble bathroom that provides much-needed coolness in the Jeddah heat.

Dining options include exceptional Latin American cuisine at Pampas, an international buffet restaurant with TwentyFour, which made for a top breakfast spot while we were there, while light snacks can be found at II Cafe and Kick Off.

A highlight of the hotel is the magnificent rooftop Siddharta Lounge. A concept that started in Paris back in 1996, Buddha Bar quickly became a place to see and be seen. Since then, the brand has branched out and blossomed into a globally renowned and well-known concept with locations worldwide, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Monte Carlo, and many more. And the lounge in Assila is a concept that comes from the same people.

Other amenities also include a luxurious spa experience for both males and females at Acropora Spa, a hotel gym that offers cardio equipment, weight training machines, hand weights, fitness classes, and a rooftop swimming pool where you can take a dip and enjoy views of the city too.

It’s safe to say that if you’re after a great staycation experience in Jeddah, look no further than Assila, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Jeddah for a top stay.
