Everything you need to know about Diriyah E-Prix 2024
The race is speeding into town…
Season 10 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship officially kicked off in Mexico City earlier this month, and the second and third races will take place on January 26-27 on the 2.5-kilometre Diriyah street circuit.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Diriyah E-Prix 2024.
Dates and times
This year, on January 26, gates and the Allianz Fan Village open at 3pm, the qualifying round starts at 3.20pm and will go on until 5pm. Right after, there will be a pit-lane walk and a driver autograph session. There will also be a pre-race concert by the Arab Queen of Music, Nancy Ajram at 6pm on the main stage.
After that, there will be another pre-race show at 7pm followed by the main event at 8pm and the podium ceremony at 9pm. Post-race concerts begin at 10pm with One Republic and end with Axwell at 11.45pm.
On January 27, most of the event schedule will remain the same; only the pre-race concert will be performed by popular Egyptian rock band Cairokee at 6pm on the main stage. The post-race concerts will kick off with The Backstreet Boys at 10pm, and Afrojack at 12am.
The circuit
The circuit has 21 turns and a length of 2.495 kilometres (1.550 mi). The ePrix was run in this configuration for the 2018 and 2019 races, with some minor adjustments made for the 2021 edition.
Previous winners
The Diriyah E-Prix was first added to the calendar in 2018, after the General Sports Authority along with the Saudi Arabian Motor Federation made a ten-year agreement to hold a Formula E ePrix in Saudi Arabia. In its inaugural year, BMW’s Antonio Felix Da Costa took pole position. In the 2022 edition, Mercedes customer team ROKIT Venturi won the race. In 2023, Porsche scored its second Formula E win.
Tickets
