Check out JAX District Ramadan market as part of Layali Biennale

Enjoy all the Ramadan vibes in the heart of JAX…

Diriyah’s JAX District is one of the most unique parts of the city. Known for its transformation from a warehouse area to one of the most bustling art districts in the country.

The Ramadan Market at JAX District is open until Monday April 1, and forms part of the Diriyah Biennale Foundation’s “Layali Biennale” initiative.

Set to welcome visitors after sunset, from 8.30pm to 2am, the nightly program will immerse them in a vibrant mix of cultural and culinary experiences.

The market will also have hot and cold stations presenting traditional cuisines including tapas-style dishes such as batates, luqaimat, smoothies, and a diverse honey and cheese selection for guests to enjoy immediately or take home. The market also includes fun henna pop-ups and live oud music too.

Entrance to the market is free, although you do need to book your spot here.

The market, as mentioned, is part of the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale 2024. The event delves into the role of a contemporary art biennial in a nation undergoing rapid social transformation, featuring 92 artists from 43 countries, including 30 artists from the wider Gulf region. The list of participating artists includes renowned names, such as Hamra Abbas, El Anatsui, Joan Jonas, and many more, representing diverse creative voices.
