Strap in for the crème de la crème of table tennis extravaganza this May. The Kingdom will host the Grand Smash 2024 World Table Tennis Championship for the first time.
Saudi Smash will take place from Wednesday May 1 to Saturday May 11 in Jeddah, marking the first professional table tennis event to be held in the country.
The event will see elite athleticism meet unparalleled entertainment at the King Abdullah Sports City, and will feature the participation of elite international players in singles and doubles competitions for men and women, as well as mixed doubles.
What to expect at the first-ever Saudi Smash?
The action kicks off with qualifying matches from Wednesday May 1 to Friday May 3, followed by the Main Draw from Saturday May 4 to Wednesday May 8.
There, 64 players, including players representing the Kingdom, in Men’s and Women’s Singles, along with the 24 pairs in Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Doubles, will battle it out for their share of 2,000 ITTF World Ranking Points and the prestigious Saudi Smash trophies.
Offering an unprecedented prize pool of US$2 million, it is also the highest for any officially sanctioned table tennis event.
World No. 1s Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha will be headlining the Men’s and Women’s Singles events respectively, with both players looking to defend their title.
Adding to the excitement, the international contingent will feature stars such as French sensation Felix Lebrun, Hugo Calderano, Hina Hayata, Lin Yun-Ju, and Tomokazu Harimoto, among others.
Fans are guaranteed action-packed matches and jaw-dropping moments. Beyond the sporting action, fans will be able to immerse in the festivities at the Saudi Smash Park. The venue will be abuzz with live entertainment, delectable food and beverage options, and interactive fun for all ages.

How to get tickets?
Tickets for Saudi Smash 2024 are now on sale via the WeBook platform.
Those who would like to attend the qualifying matches from Wednesday May 1 to Friday May 3 can get general admission tickets for just SAR25 per adult and SAR12.50 per child.
Adult tickets for the Main Draw knockout rounds from Saturday May 4 to Wednesday May 8 are priced at SAR50 for Category 1 seats, SAR40 for Category 2, SAR30 for Category 3, SAR200 for VIP, and SAR3,360 for the Infinity Lounges.
Meanwhile, adult tickets for the Saudi Smash 2024 finals weekend, taking place from Thursday May 9 to Saturday May 11, cost SAR100 for Category 1 seats, SAR75 for Category 2, SAR50 for Category 3, SAR300 for VIP, and SAR4,320 for the Infinity Lounges.
