Stay in the heart of history at these boutique hotels in Jeddah's Al Balad

A trio of new openings from Al Balad hospitality are offering elevated authenticity in the vibrant city…

Jeddah’s hotel scene is set to welcome string of high-end openings this year from global brands including EDITION, Regent and SO/. But for something a little more in keeping with the vibrant heritage of this laidback coastal city, you’ll want to check-in to the boutique hotels just unveiled by Al Balad Hospitality.

Bait Al Rayess

Located in the historic heart of Al Balad, Beit Jokhdar, Beit Al Rayess and Beit Kedwan have converted former family homes into elevated boutique stays packed with personality. Encapsulating the locale, each has been curated in collaboration with local historians, artists and carpenters, who have worked carefully to ensure each one preserves the charms of its original existence.

Bait Jokhdar

At Beit Jokhdar, guests can check-in to one of the entry level deluxe rooms or splash out one of the regal suites, the latter of which come in rich, jewel-hued fabrics, private steam rooms, and L’Occitane amenities. At Beit Al Rayess, guests are welcomed to check-in to just one of six rooms and suites, each thoughtfully designed to combine history with modern comforts, with heigh ceilings, neutral hues, and plush furnishings. Stays at Bait Kedwan are available across just two guest rooms, so this is a good option for if you’re looking to book out an entire address. Featuring multiple lounge areas with grand Arabian terraces and a tranquil roof terrace, this promises an enchanting escape for those looking to be in the heart of the action, while still enjoying their own privacy.

Bait Kedwan

Ensuring every guest enjoys a boutique stay that’s personalised, Al Balad Hospitality has curated its leisure and dining offering to ensure guests are fully immersed in the beauty and authenticity of Al Balad. Tuck-in to authentic local fare at the restaurant, marvel at the views from the rooftop terrace and spot the constellations with an evening of stargazing, and finish each day with a local chocolate left on the pillow at turndown.

Off-property, all three hotels are set within the walkable Al Balad neighbourhood, meaning you’re never far from bustling souqs, locally-run restaurants, or traditionally grand buildings with their colourful wooden roshans (window coverings).

Room rates start from SAR2,200 and can be booked via albaladhospitality.com
