The Saudi Games are coming back for 2024

Here’s everything we know so far…

The nation’s biggest sporting event is officially headed back to the capital. Dates for The Saudi Games 2024 have been announced.

Ready to hit the ground running? The big event will be held from Thursday October 3 until Thursday  October 17 in Riyadh.

The event represents over 200 clubs and brings together 45 sports, including five games dedicated to Paralympic sports.

Previously, competitions were held in multiple sports like archery, padel, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, billiards, bowling, boxing, camel racing, chess, cycling, equestrian, athletics, sailing, and the list goes on.

While details like venues, performing artists, and fan village information haven’t been announced, it’s safe to say the return is expected to be bigger than ever.

The Saudi Games are usually preceded by a massive torch relay that happens across the country. The last torch tour featured 125 athletes, 13 regions of the Kingdom, and 66 landmark locations. Athletes and sports personalities followed the torch on foot as it moved through the locations.

Just last year, DJ Snake opened up the games, and in the inaugural year (2022), mega DJ David Guetta actually took the stage at King Fahd Stadium.

One of the main goals of hosting the Saudi Games annually is to “inspire Saudi youth through sports and demonstrate the Kingdom’s capabilities globally in hosting the largest events.” Another goal is to provide a platform for Saudi athletes to excel to their best potential. Sounds exciting.

Lace up those trainers.
