Inside Lavazza’s new Riyadh flagship coffee store

Pop by for your next caffeine break…

Riyadh coffee shops run the gamut from teeny tiny hole-in-the-wall spots and sprawling landmark locations to international imports and local roasteries in every corner of the city.

And now, you can add one more to your list to get a brew.

Lavazza Coffee Design had us at hello, thanks in part to its contemporary design and chic Milanese interior, from the decadent, rich blues of the furnishings to the circular coffee bar that sits pretty within the vibrant culinary enclave of Laysen Valley.

Inspired by Lavazza’s flagship stores in Milan and London, the Riyadh location offers an immersive experience within the coffee culture that stimulates all five senses.

The space’s focal points are the iconic chandelier, made of more than 300 illuminated coffee beans, and the innovative counter, made of recycled coffee powder and resin for an original effect.

Within the space, you’ll find a living wall, made from real plants and emblazoned with a quote from founder Luigi Lavazza, which reads: “I don’t want to live in a world where nature is destroyed” – a testament to the brand’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.

But the real star of the show is the coffee experience here, which features the exclusive Lavazza’s premium 1895 coffee collection. It consists of the finest coffees from around the world, from limited quantities microlot coffee to specialty blends and single origins – not to mention its selected 1895 Cocoa Reloaded premium blend.

Bonus points: Lavazza Coffee Design doubles as a café, complete with a table service area. The store sees the Italian coffee brand, founded in 1895, encourage a gastronomical experience through coffee.

The menu, ranging from breakfast and savoury dishes to irresistible desserts, is curated by acclaimed Italian Chef Igor Macchia. Drawing inspiration from global influences, Chef Igor infuses his signature dishes and brews with Middle Eastern tastes and flavours, making them ideal for pairing with 1895 premium coffee.

Lavazza Coffee Design is more than just a coffee shop – it’s a sensory exploration of Italian culture, gastronomy, and innovation.

Sara Yousef, MEA Marketing Manager at Lavazza Group, commented, “With the unique culinary offerings under Chef Igor Macchia and the introduction of the 1895 coffee collection to the Middle East, we are confident that Riyadh’s Coffee Design will become a destination for those seeking an extraordinary Italian experience.”

Fancy a morning pick-me-up or an afternoon aperitivo, anyone?
