It’s the moment that we’ve all been waiting for. Spinneys, the UAE’s leading premium fresh food retailer, has finally opened its doors in Riyadh. We went down for a first look, and here’s everything you can expect from this much-loved supermarket.

Nestled in La Strada Yard, a brand-new complex in the An Nuzhah district located just off King Abdullah Road, this spanking new one-stop venue for all things fresh features a supermarket, an all-day dining cafe, a bakery, a butchery, a deli, and a speciality cheese counter.
If you’re an expat in Riyadh – especially if you’ve moved from Dubai, then you’re probably all too familiar with the grocer chain.
A meticulously curated product range has been the hallmark of Spinneys. Step inside the warm and inviting space, and you’ll be greeted by a vibrant display of fresh produce.
Grocery shopping here definitely doesn’t feel like a chore. Think of it as therapy. The ambience produced in the setup is very neat and organised, and it has a careful balance of illumination and colours.
The design and layout deliberately give space to the strolling passage without blocking it so that even during rush hours, customers can freely pass through the aisles. The ceiling remains in a very basic form that doesn’t get much attention, but it has been directed to give the maximum light towards the floor, so the display is much more focused here.
The 43,520-square-foot premise has everything a supermarket could carry. It caters to its customers’ ever-changing needs and aims to serve the freshest and highest-quality products. If you’re looking for variety, Spinneys has got you covered with its wide local and non-local selections.
With a medley of fresh foods produced on-site, including halal-certified meat, seafood, baked goods, and deli items, as well as flowers, pantry staples, and household appliances, the La Strada Yard store is designed for the whole family – as its wide aisles suggest.
From imported and locally sourced goods to niche grocery labels, and even products that cater to various dietary needs, diversity is Spinneys’ strong suit. True to its time-honoured motto of “eat and live well”, you can be assured of food safety, freshness, and quality in the products.

What we love the most here is its private-label brand, SpinneysFOOD, which offers organic, gluten-free, and specialty items. The brand aims to provide premium quality at competitive prices and is committed to sustainability and ethical sourcing. It also supports local and regional farmers through initiatives like the Spinneys Farmers’ Club.
