London’s Italian hotspot, Bardo, is opening soon in Riyadh
Look forward to an immersive dining destination for luxurious Italian cuisine…
The lure of new restaurants in Riyadh is undeniable. Which is why the team at What’s On is beyond intrigued when we found out that Luca Maggiora – one of the defining names in London’s nightlife scene – is bringing his Italian restaurant Bardo to KAFD.
Bardo has seen great success in their St. James, London site since it opened in July 2021, with its international clientele seduced by its lavish interiors designed in the ‘Dolce Vita’ style and a menu showcasing unique twists on traditional Italian dishes.

So, what can we expect from Bardo Riyadh? Currently, not many details have been revealed except for its location in KAFD.
With live music very much the focal point of the brand, we’re hoping Bardo Riyadh will exude the same upbeat yet intimate (even sultry) atmosphere, with both top-shelf dining and entertainment. Think: A private members’ club with a live band bringing a buzz of energy but without the fees.
As for its interiors, we’re expecting Bardo Riyadh to be all elegant and beautiful: polished marble countertops, red velvet chairs, white tablecloths, and an Art Deco bar, finished with sparkling chandeliers throughout.
The menu, albeit traditional and showcasing unique Italian cuisine from the south of Italy, will reflect the luxe décor. Look forward to classic fine-dining Italian dishes, such as burrata with figs, pickled radicchio, Chioggia beetroot, and white balsamic; short rib of beef agnolotti with garlic chips and horseradish; tagliolini cacio pepe with porcini and hazelnut crumble; and veal Milanese with roasted tomatoes.
Without a doubt, Bardo Riyadh is set to be one of the coolest new restaurants to see and be seen in the capital. We already envision this as a gorgeous spot for special occasions or even just a weeknight treat.
Luca Maggiora, owner and director of Bardo, says, “It is a great achievement for Bardo to open in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: a vibrant society and an ambitious nation. I look forward to expanding our operations in Riyadh together with our Saudi partners. Our customers will be able to experience the essence of the Italian Dolce Vita in a classy and relaxed atmosphere.”
We’ll be sure to keep you posted as we find out more details closer to the launch date in Riyadh. Watch this space.
