Matcha lovers, new spot Let’s Matcha has the matcha latte down. They get straight to the good stuff with their beverages and manage to pull off the bitter matcha taste without being too grassy and is sweet enough without being too overly milky. The place not only serves matcha drinks but also a delicious black sesame soft serve.

Let’s Matcha, Hira St, Ash Shati, Jeddah 23513, daily 2pm to 11pm. @letsmatcha.sa

Fatt is back with a new space and new timings, opening for morning meals. As well as the classic Fatt sandwiches, Fatt serves up a full fry-up for breakfast. Wash it all down with a cuppa. Heaven.

Immerse yourself in art at Hayy Jameel

Two exhibitions are on view at Hayy Arts in Hayy Jameel this summer. The first is ‘Salt-Kissed: Of Vessels That Have Sailed The Red Sea’, a collection of untold narratives anchored by the stories of eight ships that once sailed the Red Sea, bearing witness to the idiosyncrasies within its swarming body. A Saudi artist, Ahaad Alamoudi, meanwhile, fronts an exhibition of her own: ‘Moving Mountains’. Are we living in a time of particularly rapid social change? And how might we know? Only one way to find out.

Hayy Arts, Hayy Jameel, Arwa bint Abdulmutalib Street, Al Muhammadiyah District, Jeddah, Sun, Mon, Wed & Thurs 10am to 8pm, Fri 2pm to 10pm & Sat noon to 8pm. Both exhibitions run until Oct 26. @hayyjameel
