The Spanish Super Cup returns to Saudi Arabia next January

Footy fans, it’s going to be a big week of action in January 2025. Catch the Spanish Super Cup under the lights at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah between Wednesday January 8 and Sunday January 12, 2025.
Next year’s highly anticipated tournament, held in Saudi Arabia for the fifth time, will see four iconic Spanish clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao and Real Mallorca, locking horns, following a knockout format.

Here are the schedules so far:
Real Madrid will face Real Mallorca on Wednesday January 8, while Barcelona will play against Athletic Bilbao the following day.
The winning teams from each day will then advance to the final, which is scheduled for Sunday January 12.

Staging Super Cup in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has previously hosted four editions of the Spanish Super Cup, with the first being in 2020 in Jeddah, where Real Madrid won the title after defeating Atletico Madrid.
The tournament then moved to Riyadh for its second edition, in which Real Madrid claimed the 2022 title.
In the third edition, Barcelona lifted the trophy after beating Real Madrid, and Real Madrid won the fourth edition held in Riyadh earlier this year in 2024.
Barcelona holds the record for the most Spanish Super Cup titles, having won 14 times out of 27 previous participations, followed by Real Madrid with 12 titles. Athletic Bilbao ranks third with three titles, alongside Deportivo La Coruña – who also has three, while Atletico Madrid has won it twice.
