The AFC Asian Cup is happening in Saudi Arabia in 2027

Footie fans will be happy to know that an incredible tournament is making its debut in the Kingdom. The countdown has officially begun for the 19th edition of The AFC Asian Cup. This is everything we know about The Saudi Arabia AFC Asian Cup 2027.
Happening from January 7, 2027 to February 5, 2027, across the Kingdom, the tournament will be happening in cities like Jeddah, Riyadh, and Khobar. The Kingdom will be hosting Asia’s top 24 national teams.

So far, two stadiums have been confirmed for Jeddah, including the King Abdullah Sports City and the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium. There will also be a state-of-the-art venue to be built in Al Khobar.
Over in Riyadh, the matches will be held in the King Fahd Sports City Stadium, the King Saud University Stadium, Imam Mohammed Ibn Saud University Stadium, the Kingdom Arena, and the Al Shabab Stadium.
Currently, 18 nations have qualified for the tournament, including Saudi Arabia (host nation), Australia, Iraq, Uzbekistan, Iran, Qatar, UAE, Japan, Korea Republic, Oman, Palestine, Jordan, Bahrain, China PR, Indonesia, DPR Korea, Kuwait, and the Kyrgyz Republic. The last six spots will be determined through the final round of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.
The Asian Cup is the primary association football competition played by the senior men’s national teams of the members of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), determining the continental champion of Asia. The tournaments have been happening nearly every four years since they first began back in 1954 in Hong Kong.
