January 2 to 6: The 37th edition of the EA Sports FC Supercup

Football fans, the EA Sports FC Supercup is here. The first semi-final will be Inter vs Atalanta and will be played on Thursday January 2, while the second semi-final will see Juventus play AC Milan on Friday January 3. The final will take place between the winners of the semis on Monday January 6.

January 8 to 12: Be a part of the Spanish Super Cup 2025 glory in Jeddah

It sure is a big week of football action in January 2025. Catch the Spanish Super Cup under the lights at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah between Wednesday January 8 and Sunday January 12, 2025. The highly anticipated tournament will see four iconic Spanish clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao and Real Mallorca, locking horns, following a knockout format.

January 11: Try your hand at obstacle course racing

If an obstacle course race (OCR) sounds like something you’d like to try or are looking to up your game, then this new Middle Eastern obstacle course racing brand, Arabian Warrior, might be the next challenge you’re looking for. Taking place in Riyadh this month, the events feature Arab-themed obstacles of varying difficulty levels to ensure people of all skills and fitness can participate and compete. Participants can simply come along and complete their preferred challenge in the Open Heats (ladies-only and team of five heats are also an option) or compete in the more competitive Age Group Heats, where each runner is timed. Plus, a fan village awaits at the finish line, featuring entertainment and a selection of much-deserved food and beverage outlets. The AlUla Arts Festival will make its grand return from Thursday January 16 to Saturday February 22, 2025 for its fourth edition. Long-awaited Mayfair hotspot Isabel will debut next week in Riyadh, bringing modern European elegance with upscale Mediterranean cuisine. If Isabel Mayfair’s stunning ocean liner 1930s-inspired space is any indication, we’re expecting the Riyadh iteration to also feature jaw-dropping interiors. So, expect Gatsby-era glamour in each of the different dining areas, designed as an art-deco mansion. As for the food, the small-plates menu at Isabel specialises in Mediterranean dishes with Argentine influences, like grilled zucchini with mint and lemon, veal ragù gnocchi, a paper-thin prawn crudo, and, of course, Santa Cruz’s legendary blackened chicken. The podcaster, stand-up comedian and all-round funnyman promises to present an evening of side-splitting belly laughs with his comedic satire.

Taking place on Thursday January 30, 2025 at The Venue, a brand-new Riyadh Season location, slap fighting is exactly what it sounds like: Two contestants slapping each other. Hard. The bout typically ends when only one of them is conscious.
