This Ramadan, travel to AlUla to create memories that last a lifetime
Sponsored: Get away from it all…
City dwellers often look at Ramadan as the perfect time to relax, recharge, and get closer to what really matters. Few locations would be better than scenic and peaceful AlUla to do just that. The glorious city is inviting friends and families to experience the Holy Month in a setting like no other.
The breathtaking heritage destination welcomes guests with a range of exclusive offers this Ramadan, each better than the last, including incredible deals on room rates across luxury hotels and resorts.
Hotels
The following glorious properties will be offering special discounted rates during the month. And if you’re looking to escape the mundane and work remotely, special rates are available for seven-night stays and above, with additional discounts on extended bookings.
The Chedi Hegra
Known for opening the most stylish and memorable hotels and resorts in unique destinations worldwide, The Chedi in Hegra is home to 35 rooms, three dining venues, a spa, and a swimming pool. An architectural marvel built within the UNESCO World Heritage site, the property is built directly into already existing structures, including an old railway station, Hegra Fort, and surrounding buildings.
Banyan Tree AlUla
Located in the dramatic landscapes of Ashar Valley, Banyan Tree AlUla is an all-villa resort. The whole resort is built on three principles: in-villa, in-valley, and en-voyage, allowing guests to enjoy not just the resort but the world of wonders that await in wider AlUla.
Our Habitas
Boutique eco-retreat Habitas made roots in the Ashar Valley of AlUla in 2021. Complete with 96 villas dotted across the vast desert landscape, rooms are set between manmade dunes for optimum privacy, and many feature epic mountain views from their private terraces.
Dar Tantora The House Hotel
Named after AlUla’s famous sundial, Dar Tantora puts you right in the heart of the culturally-rich Old Town. The boutique 30 hotel rooms are made from sensitively restored mudbrick buildings, bringing back a touch of ancient living with just a hint of luxury.
Ashar Tented Resort
The understated, rustic design of Ashar Tented Resort is part of its charming allure, unrolling along the sandy plains of Ashar Valley. An elevated glamping resort, guests check-in to one of 44 boutique tents and villas dotted throughout the valley.
Caravan by Our Habitas
Caravan AlUla is located a five-minute drive from the Habitas resort, so glampers checking in benefit from all of the perks of the resort, including Tama restaurant, access to the infinity pool, and fitness and wellness spaces. Rather than Bedouin-inspired tents, accommodation here is in the form of retro Airstream trailers tucked into the AlUla valley.
Shaden Resort AlUla
One of the best hotels in AlUla for family stays is Shaden Resort. There’s a wide array of room options – from bright guest rooms that open up to terraces and balconies, to villas that come with their own private pools.
Cloud7 Residence AlUla
Laid out like a quaint, low-rise complex of neat bungalows, it’s designed to allow guests to create connections not only with one another – thanks to an array of community-focused spaces – but also to connect with the local area.
Iftars and Suhoors
All of the aforementioned hotels will offer all-day dining, with daily iftar and suhoor experiences at their signature restaurants, including Tama at Our Habitas, Saffron and Harrat at Banyan Tree AlUla, Joontos at Dar Tantora The House Hotel, Charcood at Cloud7 Residence AlUla, and Prima Classe at The Chedi Hegra, among others.
Luxury spa offers
You can’t have a rejuvenating getaway without spa treatments. The most exclusive spas in all of AlUla will welcome you to meditation-focused sessions to embrace the reflective spirit of Ramadan. You can book a session at one of the following spas: Banyan Tree Spa AlUla, Thuraya Wellness at Our Habitas, and the spas at Dar Tantora The House Hotel and Shaden Resort AlUla.
Ramadan activities
While we love staying in and getting cosy in a hotel room (or villa in this case), there are a ton of Ramadan activities to check out. You can enjoy Iftar Tofareya, which is one of the most unique experiences in town. Picture a communal iftar for residents and visitors at Incense Road in AlJadidah Arts District from March 1 to March 29.
After iftar, you can check out Ramadan carts in AlJadidah Arts District from 9pm to 2am, where you can tuck into authentic dishes prepared by local families. You can then explore the Memories of Ramadan night tour, a 45-minute torchlit journey through AlUla Old Town guided by a local Rawi storyteller. The tour will be available from February 28 until March 28.
For an amazing retreat, book yourself a Ramadan sound bath experience on March 14, which includes breathwork, a sunset reflection on the essence of Ramadan, a transformative sound bath, and concludes with the breaking of the fast.
Special Ramadan rates will also apply to the Vintage Land Rover Tour, Hegra Day Tour, AlUla Old Town Tour, Giant Swing, as well as abseiling, rock climbing, the AlUla Zipline, and more.
For a more chill, charming outdoor experience, grab the popcorn and head down to Cinema AlJadidah to catch screenings throughout the month.
There will also be several immersive exhibitions that will remain open past the closing weekend of the AlUla Arts Festival, including Wadi AlFann presents James Turrell (until April 19), Maha Malluh: Reminiscence (until April 19), Tarek Atoui: Bayt Al Hams (until April 16), Design Space AlUla: Raw to Revival (until April 19), Alamaat (until March 26)
