This homegrown Mediterranean restaurant is now open in Jeddah

There are few things better in life than sharing beautifully spiced Mediterranean fare with your mates. Check out Hazal, a homegrown restaurant located within the vibrant Atelier La Vie complex in Jeddah.

Hazal celebrates all things Levantine – from the menu featuring rich and diverse flavours of Turkey, Lebanon, Greece, and Egypt, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, to the hospitality.

The new restaurant comes from KRAIV, the same team behind Myra, the celebrated French patisserie in Jeddah.

Here’s what you can expect from Hazal Jeddah.

Dine in a gorgeous space full of warm, natural finishes and lush greenery. The terracotta tiles and soothing pastel tones create a serene Mediterranean ambience, with the lively open kitchen adding an element of culinary theatre. A striking feature, though, is the white oak arboreal installation, which symbolises life and vitality.

Slide into a cosy booth and browse a menu that includes a mouthwatering selection of mezzes like smoky baba ghanoush, hummus awarma with pine nuts, and feta paired with seasonal melon and mint to share.

Here, you’ll also find small plates that include prawn casserole with garlic and paprika, crispy courgette fritters with herb labneh, and lamb manti – delicate pasta stuffed with lamb in a tomato and roasted garlic sauce.

Its mains are as memorable – you’ll be able to devour the likes of slow-cooked ouzi lamb with cinnamon and saffron rice, sea bream meunière, and cherry kebab with pine nuts and cherry molasses.

If you have room for dessert, the Turkish milk cake and kunafeh served with pistachio and vanilla ice cream are not to be missed.

Open daily for lunch and dinner, Hazal is open until 1am for late-night feasting. Meanwhile, on Fridays and Saturdays, guests can also enjoy a leisurely breakfast featuring unique offerings like Turkish eggs with Aleppo pepper butter and whipped garlic yoghurt or sweet treats such as French toast with kaymak, cherries, and nut crumble. Great for morning folks looking for some weekend plans.

But Hazal is more than just a delicious Levantine restaurant; its outdoor terrace offers the perfect setting to unwind with a hookah experience, so you can puff away to your heart’s content.
