Take a look at the rapid progress of THE LINE by NEOM
The future is now (almost)…
THE LINE. A name that echoes in rooms and makes headlines across the world. Set to become the future of urban living, plans for THE LINE were first announced back in 2022. This is what the progress of THE LINE by NEOM looks like at this time.
In images shared by Giles Pendleton, chief operating officer, THE LINE at NEOM, you can see just how far along construction is right now.
Work is now well underway, and one of the most ambitious projects the world has ever seen is progressing rapidly.
A head-spinning architectural marvel unlike anything ever seen or done before, THE LINE is Saudi Arabia’s visionary vertical city, welcoming what the future of living looks like.
The revolutionary development promises to be an environment free from roads, cars, emissions, and, most importantly, traffic (yes, you did hear that right, people of Riyadh). It will run on 100 per cent renewable energy and showcase how urban communities will live in the future.
Initial plans for THE LINE were a 170-kilometre (105-mile) linear city that’s 500 metres above sea level and 200 metres wide; however, the current plan is for a 2.4-kilometre stretch to be completed by 2030.
The ideal climate all year round will ensure that residents can enjoy the surrounding nature when travelling on foot. Residents will also have access to all facilities within THE LINE at no more than a five-minute walk, in addition to a high-speed rail with an end-to-end transit of 20 minutes.
