Tallest tower in the world in Riyadh: design proposals have been revealed

The tower will be located in the north of Riyadh

Global architecture firm HKS has just unveiled stunning design proposals for the ambitious Rise Tower project as part of The North Pole project in Riyadh. Announced back in 2023. Rise Tower is expected to become the tallest tower in the world in Riyadh at nearly two kilometres.

Surpassing the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which stands at 828 metres, the project comes as part of the North Pole. Spanning 306 square kilometres, the project is part of several megaprojects coming to Riyadh, such as King Salman Park, Qiddiya, and the Konoz, the North Pole is backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and will feature residential neighbourhoods, commercial zones, and public parks.

The tallest tower in the world in Riyadh will be located inside the North Pole project. The project focuses on urban living and modern transportation and will offer a futuristic living experience, with transportation including air taxis, self-driving vehicles, and a high-speed underground metro system.

One of the project’s most notable features is its design, which focuses on sustainability and connectivity. Picture pedestrian-friendly streets, bicycle lanes, and dedicated public transportation routes, reflecting the project’s commitment to the environment. That’s not all, though; the project will also feature hotels, observation decks, dining spaces, and offices, all powered by solar and renewable energy.

The project is currently still in the planning stages, although authorities aim to complete key areas by 2030, with the full development following suit in phases over the course of the next few years. Located close to King Khalid International Airport, the North Pole is near other key developments like Expo 2030 and New Murabba.
