Confirmed: These are all the Riyadh Air 2025 launch details
The highly anticipated airline is finally ready to take on the skies
Riyadh Air. It’s more than an airline, it’s more than a name, it’s essentially a phenomenon. Saudi Arabia’s new flag carrier has somewhat become a celebrity in the world of airlines, and we can honestly say we’re massive fans. And if you’ve been as excited as we are, these are the Riyadh Air 2025 launch details.
Riyadh Air has signalled its intention to become a worldwide player in the aviation sector. The carrier aims to serve more than 100 destinations by 2030 and is focused on opening up new global connections for business and leisure travel.
The history
Riyadh Air was first announced in early 2023, with a plan to connect the capital to more than 100 destinations globally as part of Vision 2030. The launch of the airline will mark a new era of travel globally and will provide tourists from all over the world a chance to witness Saudi Arabia’s cultural and natural attractions.
Launch date
Starting as early as 17 days from now, on Sunday October 26, Riyadh Air will commence daily launch flights from Riyadh to London Heathrow
Airport (LHR) on board its designated Boeing 787-9 technical spare aircraft, “Jamila.” These are currently only open to Riyadh Air and PIF employees and their families.
Destinations
After daily flights to London Heathrow, the next phase of Riyadh Air’s Pathway to Perfect will see flights to Dubai.
Flights will depart Riyadh at 3.15am (RX401) with an early morning arrival time into London Heathrow at 7.30am, the return flights depart London at 9.30am (RX402), arriving back to Riyadh at 7.15pm (all times local). Further exciting new routes are set to be announced in the coming weeks for winter 2025 and summer 2026.
Public sales are expected to follow at a later date. Check back with What’s On Saudi Arabia for the latest.
An all-new loyalty program
As part of the Riyadh Air launch, the airline is also launching Sfeer (the Arabic word for “ambassador” blended with the English word “sphere”), its own loyalty program from the get-go.
And because Riyadh Air doesn’t do anything small or basic, the new loyalty program is not your average occasional free access plan; there’s so much more here. Sfeer will act as a gamified experience, and the prize? Unlocking the very best of the country.
Members will be able to share level points within their community, along with several membership benefits to enhance the travel experience for their friends and family.
Hafawa Lounge
As with all great airlines, Riyadh Air is, of course, launching its own inaugural premium lounge, the Hafawa Lounge at King Khalid International Airport. Located between Terminal 1 and 2 of the airport, the new lounge spans an impressive 2,000 square metres and offers seating for nearly 370 guests.
The Hafawa Lounge is exclusively open to Riyadh Air’s Business Elite and Business Class travellers. The lounge provides a diverse array of zones tailored to everything a guest might need, including a cafe, a social lounge, a beverage counter, an immersive room, family and private rooms, plus an executive dining area with both private dining and Executive Dining areas overlooking a serene garden.
