Minzal returns with a scenic celebration of Diriyah's natural heritage

You will want to see this beloved Diriyah heritage experience

Diriyah’s iconic Minzal is back, and it’s your passport to a world where heritage meets outdoor adventures.

Overlooking Wadi Safar, the largest tributary of Wadi Hanifah, this year’s programme, as part of Diriyah Season 25/26, offers a truly immersive experience inspired by traditional life and the warmth of authentic Saudi hospitality.

Minzal

Taking place until Saturday February 14, Minzal invites visitors to be immersed in Diriyah’s traditions through inspiring heritage storytelling, breathtaking natural scenery, poetry, and traditional cuisine.

What to see and do at Minzal

For those seeking adventure, Minzal has it all. The event features horseback riding, falconry, archery, and even stargazing under Diriyah’s clear skies. Meanwhile, foodies will love the selection of renowned international restaurants and cosy cafés.

Retail therapy is on the menu, too, where you can shop, stroll, and discover unique finds at the retail outlets.

The programme is spread across four main zones highlighting Diriyah’s historical and cultural significance.

Visitors can enjoy the Al-Uloom experience to learn leather-working, carpet weaving, and woodworking, and the Sloom experience for Saudi coffee, desert plants, fire lighting, camel milking, and tent making.

The Faris Al-Badiyah experience offers horse riding and archery, and its dedicated Falconry section allows visitors to learn the art of hunting with majestic Arabian falcons.

Another highlight is the Al-Mushrif experience, which offers stargazing in a serene natural setting.

From heritage to adventure, Minzal is the perfect gateway to nature and tradition. Plus, the crisp winter weather makes wandering through it a delight.

Diriyah Season serves as a global destination for history enthusiasts, offering journeys through heritage sites that once formed the political and cultural centre of the region.

Wadi Safar wonders

Minzal is set against the breathtaking backdrop of Wadi Safar, a place where nature and history perfectly collide. Known for its fertile rock formations and lush agricultural lands, Wadi Safar has supported local communities for centuries and has long served as a winter retreat along the banks of Wadi Hanifah.

Its strategic location southwest of Diriyah also made it a key defensive area during the First Saudi State, and today it stands as a living testament to the city’s rich heritage.
