Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport to undergo major changes

If you’re going to be flying out of or into Riyadh in the next few weeks, you need to know about these changes at King Khalid International Airport.

Starting from Monday February 16, King Khalid International Airport will undergo a terminal transition process that will begin as part of the largest transformation in the airport’s history.

The changes

  • On Monday February 16, all international flights operated by flyadeal that will depart after midnight will be relocated to Terminal 1.
  • Following the flyadeal change, on Tuesday February 17, all international flights operated by Saudia that will depart after 3am will be relocated to Terminal 2.
  • Then on Tuesday February 24, all domestic flights operated by Saudia departing after midnight will be relocated to Terminal 4.
  • Alongside the Saudia change, all domestic flights operated by flynas and flyadeal departing after 11pm on Tuesday February 24, will also be moved to Terminal 4.
  • On Wednesday February 25, all international flights operated by foreign carriers scheduled to depart after 5am will be relocated to Terminal 5.
  • Also on Wednesday February 25, domestic flights operated by flynas, flyadeal, and Saudia departing after 7am will be moved to Terminal 3.

How to avoid missing your flight

To ensure a seamless travel experience amid these new changes at King Khalid International Airport, you’ll be happy to hear that passenger check-in for all flights will begin four hours before the flight at the designated terminal. The airport has also stated that fliers need to maintain communication with the operating carriers to receive the latest updates.

The final allocation

Upon completion of the terminal transition process, the final allocation of the airlines and their respective terminals is as follows:

International flights

  • International flights operated by flynas and flyadeal: Terminal 1
  • International flights operated by Saudia and Riyadh Air: Terminal 2
  • International flights operated by all foreign carriers: Terminal 5

Domestic flights

  • Flights operated by Saudia, flynas, and flyadeal: Terminal 3 and Terminal 4
