Hajj 2026 applications for domestic pilgrims are now open
You can now apply online
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has just announced that Hajj 2026 applications for domestic pilgrims are now open. In the beginning, priority will be given to people who have not performed the Hajj before.
Hajj 2026 applications for domestic pilgrims are open through the Nusuk mobile phone app and website from Monday February 23 (Ramadan 6). The registration for package booking will begin on March 4 (Ramadan 15).
Applications are open to both Saudi citizens and expatriates with valid residency permits who wish to perform Hajj from within the Kingdom. If seats remain available, booking will be opened to other eligible applicants (after people who have not performed the Hajj before).
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must be at least 15 years old (Gregorian calendar) and comply with approved health requirements. For expatriates, a valid residency permit is required, with priority given to those whose residency was issued more than one Gregorian year ago, per Saudi Gazette.
Applicants must register personally by creating an account, completing their information, verifying eligibility, selecting a package, and paying the fees via the SADAD system to obtain the Hajj permit.
What is Hajj?

Hajj is an annual pilgrimage to Makkah and is one of the five pillars of Islam. The rites of pilgrimage are performed over five to six days, extending from the 8th to the 13th of Dhu al-Hijjah (this year the corresponding dates on the Gregorian calendar are Friday June 14 until Wednesday June 19, with Eid Al-Adha expected to fall on Sunday June 16). Hajj is a religious requirement that all adult Muslims must perform at least once in their lives if they can afford it.
Both Hajj and Umrah are Islamic pilgrimages to Makkah, but the method of observance differs. Hajj is done over a set number of days in a set lunar month, whereas Umrah can be done throughout the year. While Hajj requires more preparation and time, Umrah only takes a few hours.
