Due to ongoing regional developments affecting the Middle East airspace, several airlines have announced an extension of the initial suspension of flights to and from Saudi Arabia. So, if you’re flying in or out of the Kingdom, it’s worth double-checking your booking before heading to the airport. These are the latest flight updates in Saudi Arabia.

Saudia

Saudi Arabia’s national carrier, Saudia, has announced that due to airspace closures, flights to and from eight destinations remain cancelled. These include flights from Amman, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, Moscow, and Peshawar and will remain suspended for an additional two days, until March 6 at 11:59pm per Saudi GazetteThe airline has announced that the Emergency Coordination Centre continues to monitor the situation around the clock in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure the safety and security of passengers and crew.

Flynas

Flynas announced in a supplementary statement on Wednesday March 4, that due to the continued airspace closures, the airline has decided that flights to and from the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, and Syria will be suspended until 3pm on Friday March 6. Flynas advises travellers to check the status of their flights via the website before leaving for the airport.

Low-cost carrier Flyadeal has confirmed the suspension of its flights to and from Amman, Dubai, and Damascus. These cancellations are applicable until 11.59pm on Thursday March 5. All affected passengers will be notified directly, and passengers are encouraged to check the status of their flights via the website before heading out for the airport.

Emirates

new Emirates flights

A common transit destination and airline for many, all scheduled Emirates flights to and from Dubai are currently suspended until 10.59pm (KSA time) on March 7. The airline is continuing to operate a limited number of flights, which you can check through the Emirates flight status page. Passengers connecting through Dubai will only be allowed to travel if their onward flight is operating. Emirates is also advising customers not to head to the airport unless they have been contacted directly by the airline.

Air France

direct flights between Riyadh and Paris

The French carrier announced via its official website that it has cancelled its flights to and from Riyadh until Thursday March 5, and until March 7 for flights departing from Dubai, and until March 8 for Beirut. Commercial measures have been put in place allowing customers to postpone or cancel their trip free of charge, whether their flight is cancelled or not.

After careful assessment of the current situation, Air India plans to commence its scheduled operations to and from Jeddah from Thursday March 5, for the following routes:
