Everything we know about the Riyadh University of Arts right now

It’s the country’s first dedicated institution for arts and culture

It’s no secret that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia holds the arts very near and dear to its heart. With a constant rotation of exhibitions and a steady stream of brilliant local artists being churned out by the country, Saudi Arabia has always catered to both arts and culture lovers and pioneers of the field.

So, it’s no surprise (that’s not to say we’re not over the moon) that the country has just launched the Riyadh University of Arts. Set to start accepting admissions by May 2026, Riyadh University of Arts’ first academic year will begin in fall 2026 (September).

The university’s website will be launched on Monday March 30, featuring all the information you would need, including program details, course catalogues, fee structures, and more. In total, there will be 13 colleges, with four launching in the first phase in partnership with the best academic institutions specialising in the fields of arts and culture.

The new Riyadh-based university will open its campus in Irqah and will be an independent educational institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture. The university aspires to rank among the world’s top 50 international universities specialising in arts and culture. The goal is to cultivate and nurture an innovative educational environment that empowers students to discover their passions, develop their talents, champion creativity, and contribute to the creative economy.
