Saudi Arabia has just announced that the mutual visa exemption between the Kingdom and Russia is all set to take effect next month, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this week. Here’s what you need to know about the Saudi visa-free entry to Russia.
Set to begin on Monday May 11, the agreement, which was first announced on December 1, allows citizens of both countries to travel to the two without a visa. Under the deal, travellers can stay for up to 90 days, either continuously or sporadically, within a single year.

The new Saudi visa-free entry to Russia applies to visits for tourism, business, or to visit relatives and friends,, according to Saudi Gazette. The ministry clarified that the visa-free arrangement does not cover travel for work, study, residency, or Hajj and that appropriate visas must be obtained for those purposes. This exemption extends to all types of passports (diplomatic, special, and regular).
The agreement on mutual visa exemption was signed by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.The Russian Federation is the first country with which the Kingdom has signed a mutual visa exemption agreement that includes holders of regular passports, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
