AlUla Skies Festival returns this November: Here's what to expect

From sunrise hot air balloon rides and stargazing to a concert by Nancy Ajram and much more

As anyone who has spent time in AlUla knows, there is never a shortage of reasons to visit, especially during the cooler months.

But come November, all eyes turn skyward as AlUla Skies Festival returns with 10 days of hot air balloons, astronomy experiences, and spectacular desert entertainment.

Taking place from Friday November 6 to Sunday November 15, AlUla Skies Festival 2026 will once again celebrate all things celestial, from soaring balloon rides above Hegra and immersive stargazing to dazzling nighttime shows and live music under the stars.

AlUla Skies Festival

As the Gulf’s first certified Dark Sky Reserve, AlUla offers some of the clearest night skies in the region, making it the perfect setting for a festival dedicated to the wonders of the universe.

Whether you’re floating above ancient landscapes at sunrise or watching illuminated balloons glow against the desert night, get ready for one of AlUla’s most magical events of the year.

What to expect at AlUla Skies Festival 2026

AlUla Skyrise

One of the festival’s headline experiences, AlUla Skyrise will see up to 30 hot air balloons take off together above the UNESCO-listed landscapes of Hegra. The shared sunrise flight promises panoramic desert views and some seriously impressive photo opportunities. Spaces are expected to be limited.

Hot Air Balloon Glow Show

Even after the sun goes down, the skies remain busy. The Hot Air Balloon Glow Show will transform into a dazzling night of light and fire, with up to 12 tethered balloons lighting up in sync with acrobatic performances, projection mapping, and music.

Tethered Hot Air Balloon Experience

Not quite ready to float freely over the desert? The family-friendly tethered balloon experience offers a gentler introduction, lifting visitors up to 50 metres above AlManshiyah Plaza for sweeping views of AlUla’s landscapes.

House of Constellations

The historic Old Town Amphitheatre will transform into an immersive astronomy hub featuring interactive installations, a 360-degree planetarium and guided celestial storytelling experiences. From there, visitors will then head to the Old Town Fort, where Rawi guides will point out planets and constellations overhead.

Nancy Ajram performs live under the stars

Adding a musical touch to the festival is Lebanese superstar Nancy Ajram, who will perform an open-air concert set against AlUla’s striking desert scenery. The performance is expected to be one of the festival’s highlights.

Needless to say, this is one November event we’re already looking forward to. Ticket details have not yet been released, but we’ll update this page as soon as more details are announced.
