Anthony Joshua's comeback fight is now happening in Jeddah

Boxing fans, if you’ve been patiently waiting for the fight of the year, where Anthony Joshua steps back into the ring in Saudi Arabia, headlining The Comeback. Here’s what we know about Anthony Joshua vs Kristian Prenga.
The announcement was shared via social media by Jeddah Calendar. And while not much was known about the fight’s location when it was still set to be in Riyadh, that’s all changed. The Comeback will be taking over the Jeddah Superdome on Saturday July 25.

The bout will see British heavyweight Anthony Joshua taking on Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga as part of Jeddah Calendar in collaboration with Riyadh Season. This came as the official launch press conference for the bout was held this past Monday in London, marking the first media appearance and first face-off between Joshua and Prenga since the fight was announced.
Joshua enters the bout with a professional record of 28 wins and four losses, including 25 victories by knockout, with his most recent win coming by knockout against Jake Paul in December 2025. After time away and a reset, this isn’t just another fight night. It’s a return in every sense of the word.
The London 2012 Olympic gold medallist and former two-time unified heavyweight world champion is regarded as one of boxing’s most influential figures, having secured landmark victories over Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko, New Zealand’s Joseph Parker, Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev, and Mexican-American Andy Ruiz Jr. He has also featured in major bouts against Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, Britain’s Daniel Dubois, and Cameroonian Francis Ngannou, headlining major events at iconic venues including Wembley Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
Albanian contender Kristian Prenga enters the contest with an impressive record of 20 wins, all by knockout, and only one defeat. Having turned professional in 2016, Prenga is set to compete in the highest-profile fight of his career and make his first appearance in a major international main event.
