The centre is home to five training areas and is equipped with a team of specialists in physical conditioning, nutrition, performance analysis and psychology. At a time, the new Elite Combat Sports Centre in Jeddah can cater to up to 250 male and female athletes per training session.
Serving every aspect of an athlete’s needs, the new venue also features recovery and treatment facilities, including saunas and hot and cold pools, nutrition and athlete support areas, administrative offices, and various supporting facilities and services.
According to Arab News, a combat sports centre in Riyadh is scheduled to open as early as next month in July 2026. This will be followed by an Elite Athlete Training Centre in the capital later in the year, with a capacity of 10,000 athletes. Additional centres are planned for Jazan and Bisha in 2027, including a 400-metre internationally certified track.
Abdulaziz Ba’ashan, secretary-general and chief executive officer of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, said the Jeddah facility represents the first phase of a wider network of elite training centers planned across the Kingdom.
“Today, we are building the training environment that will forge tomorrow’s champions,” Ba’ashan said during the opening ceremony. “This centre may represent the Kingdom on podiums of victory at the 2034 Riyadh Masters,” he added.
