There is a new seaside cinema in the Eastern Province - but not for long
Movie nights in Qatif have just got an upgrade
Grab the popcorn. A new cinema experience has arrived on Qatif Corniche, one of the Eastern Province’s most popular waterfront destinations.
It’s the latest addition to the area’s growing entertainment scene, bringing movie nights to a stretch of waterfront already popular for its cafés, restaurants and seaside walks.
Launched as part of the Qatif Calendar, Qatif Cinema is a temporary pop-up cinema at the Wahatna Farhana venue on the Corniche. It runs for just 18 days, offering visitors another reason to spend an evening by the sea, before it wraps up on Sunday June 14.

The venue features a dedicated cinema screen, comfortable seating and food and beverage options, making it a one-stop destination for film lovers looking for something a little different from the usual cinema outing.
Qatif Cinema operates daily from 5pm to 1am, with three screenings each day. The programme caters to a range of age groups and cinematic tastes, and the film line-up changes regularly throughout the event.
The pop-up is part of the wider Qatif Calendar, which has brought a packed programme of activities to the city’s waterfront. Alongside the cinema, visitors can explore Souq Al Qatif, a traditional market-inspired attraction; admire classic-car displays; watch cycling races and fishing competitions; or head to Rimal Al Qatif for off-road adventures.
It’s also a reminder that attractions in Saudi Arabia are no longer confined to permanent landmarks. Increasingly, some of the Kingdom’s most interesting experiences are temporary, whether that’s a seasonal festival, a limited-run exhibition, or, in this case, a cinema experience on the Corniche.

So, if you’re planning a visit to the Corniche over the next couple of weeks, this might be a good excuse to add a movie to your plans. Currently showing are 7Dogs, Michael, Obsession and The Super Mario Galaxy, with the line-up set to rotate throughout the event.
