Saudia tops global airlines for on-time performance

We’re so proud of the Kingdom’s national carrier

For many travellers in Saudi Arabia, flying with Saudia is simply part of the journey. Whether it’s a quick hop to AlUla, a summer holiday abroad, or a long-haul flight across the globe, the airline remains one of the Kingdom’s most popular travel partners. Saudia tops global airlines for on-time performance.

This achievement came during one of the busiest months of the year in terms of operational activity, as June saw the peak of the return of pilgrims to their home countries after completing Hajj, in addition to the start of the summer vacation season.

Saudi Arabian Airlines recorded an on-time arrival rate of 92.38 per cent, while the on-time departure rate reached 93.02 per cent across 13,350 flights.

The outstanding performance is further improved by advanced digital systems, enhanced by artificial intelligence technologies, by planning and forecasting accuracy and by supporting real-time decision-making. This adds to increased operational discipline, enhanced operational flexibility, and the achievement of the highest levels of efficiency for scheduled and additional flights.

During the same period, Saudia’s low-cost carrier, flyadeal, operated 5,150 flights; its on-time arrival rate reached 95.42 per cent, and its on-time departure rate reached 96.63 per cent. The carrier led the list of airlines in the Middle East and Africa region, according to a report by Cirium, a platform specialising in monitoring and analysing airline performance, for June 2026.

This comes after Saudia was named Best Cabin Service in the Middle East at the 2026 APEX Awards, an international aviation awards programme based on verified passenger feedback, just last month.

The award recognises the work Saudia has been putting into enhancing the overall passenger experience in recent years. Frequent flyers may already have noticed some of the changes, from refreshed service standards to a greater focus on showcasing Saudi hospitality on board.
