Watch the sunset at King Fahd’s Fountain

Visible from all across the city, King Fahd’s fountain is an iconic Jeddah landmark. If you haven’t yet watched the fountain during sunset, make your way down to experience the magical scene before wandering down the corniche to explore the many food offerings, including Italian restaurant Caffe Aroma or Culture Cafe for panoramic views.

Good vibes and burgers at Surround

Treat night? Why not try a taste of America at Surround restaurant. Located in Atelier LaVie mall, the Riyadh-based restaurant has some of the best tasting burgers in the city. With great coffee and breakfast staples, Knead Bakery is the perfect spot for a chilled out breakfast. You can’t go wrong with their freshly baked pastries (cinnamon rolls come highly recommended) and feel-good all day menu. Must try: huevos rancheros, those with a sweet tooth should opt for the banana and hazelnut pancakes.

Take a day trip to the ‘Maldives of Jeddah’

Bayada Island, around a 40-minute boat ride from the city, is known for its turquoise coral-filled waters, picture-perfect white sand, and gives the Maldives a run for its money. The five hour day trip from Jeddah to Bayada Island includes snacks, drinks, and is supervised by a snorkel coach and all the gear. As well as snorkeling, there are so many different activities on offer including water volleyball, fishing, and of course swimming in the crystal clear water. Get your tickets online in advance, weekend trips start at either 7am until 12pm or 1pm until 6pm.

Burn some calories at B-Padel

If you aren’t familiar with padel tennis then, where have you been? Padel tennis, like normal tennis but with a smaller court, has become increasingly popular over the last year or so. It is a great way to exercise, socialise, and is also easier to play thanks to the walls surrounding the court which allows for longer rallying. Give it a go this weekend at Jeddah’s first padel club, B-Padel, which has padel courts, a café, and a green area.

Al Khalidiyyah, Jeddah. Daily, 8am to 11am and 3pm to 12am. Tel: (0)58 013 5094 linktr.ee/b.padel @bpadel.sa

Get rainbow messy at The Colorfly

If you are feeling creative or perhaps celebrating a family occasion this weekend, The Colorfly offers freestyle painting sessions for couples and families. Don’t expect paintbrushes, the studio encourages its budding artists to use everything but tools: painting with hands/body parts and using powder paints, so dress smartly and get ready to get messy.

The Colorfly, Al Hamra District, Jeddah. 1pm to 10pm. Tel:(0)56 323 6267. thecolorfly
