The Saudi Cup is coming back in 2024
The major horseracing event is coming back soon…
Recognised as the world’s most valuable horse race, The Saudi Cup is racing back in a few months’ time, for its fifth edition. The Saudi Cup 2024 is set to raise the stakes and bring an even bigger spectacle to the capital.
Happening from Friday February 23 and Saturday February 24, 2024 at King Abdulaziz Racecourse, The Saudi Cup will boast a new prize fund worth an additional USD2 million when compared to 2023’s version.

A few new changes will also be introduced, including a 2,100-metre Neom Turf Cup and the 1351 Turf Sprint to global Group 2, and the 2,100-metre Al Mneefah Cup for Purebred Arabians will also run as a Group 1 for the first time.
The programme for both days has also been announced, on Friday, you can look forward seeing the Al Mneefah Handicap race, with an increase in the prize pool from USD1 million to USE1.5 million, while the 1,800-metre Jockey Club Local Handicap on the dirt will see an increase in prize money from USD500,000 to USD1.5 million.

The major race on Saturday is the highly anticipated Saudi Cup, with undercards like the Saudi International Handicap, Saudi Derby and Riyadh Derby also taking place.
HRH Prince Bandar Bin Khalid Alfaisal, Chairman of the JCSA said “This year’s upgrade in races and increases in prize money across the Saudi Cup bear testament to the continued commitment of the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia to the development of racing both within the Kingdom and internationally.”
