First look: LA-born eatery Jon & Vinny’s is now open in Riyadh

There’s no shortage of epic casual eateries and fine diners in Riyadh. But that doesn’t mean new champs can’t keep rolling in and blowing our collective culinary minds.
If you need a reason to try somewhere new, LA-born eatery Jon & Vinny’s, nestled in The Elite complex in the As Sulimaniyah district, needs to go straight to your shortlist.
Jon & Vinny’s Riyadh is officially open for bookings
The first location out of the United States, Jon & Vinny’s debut in Saudi Arabia is set to delight Riyadh diners with its playful Italian persona, California-inspired dining space, and comfort food classics just “like Nonna used to make”.
Walk through the door, and you’ll see an open kitchen and the lofty space being done up in pale white oak interiors with a cosy and minimalist aesthetic. You can’t miss the pops of green and their branded display of pizza boxes, either.
There’s also a glass cabinet near the entrance, displaying a variety of cookies and other Italian desserts, such as bombolini and coconut macaroons. And those little cones of soft serve at the back will be impossible to pass up.
Jon & Vinny’s Riyadh opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. The hip and family-friendly restaurant forgoes fancy or fiddly Italian dishes in favour of American-inspired classics like hearty chicken parmigiana, its famous homemade red sauce, and a vast selection of pastas.

A favourite in its California outlets, breakfast at Jon & Vinny’s Riyadh will be an indulgent affair, with the menu featuring Jon & Vinny’s classics like Breakfast Pizza 2.0 – loaded with potato, egg, and red onion – and fluffy American pancakes stacked to the ceiling. And in true Italian style, there’s plenty of coffee, from the classic Americano, cappuccino, cortado, and latte to the signature vanilla bean latte.
For lunch and dinner, it’s onto Jon & Vinny’s Italian classics, and favourites include its famous razor-thin wood-fired pizzas made with 48-hour fermented dough, Instagrammable anti-pasta board and fully loaded, American-style salads, juicy meats straight from the grill and pasta all made fresh in-house. Hero pasta dishes champion the numerous regions of Italy and include Cacio e Pepe, spaghetti limone, ricotta ravioli, and their famous slow-cooked six-hour beef bolognese.
With an energetic vibe and a tasty selection of Italian-American comfort food, Jon & Vinny’s Riyadh is the perfect spot for a playful weeknight dinner with your friends.
