The direct flights will operate on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with flights from SAR847 one-way with one carry-on bag and 23 kilograms of checked-in luggage. When you add on the return leg, the rates start from SAR1,708.
A quick look at ita-airways.com shows that passengers will be able to jet off from Riyadh at 1.45am, with the return flight from Rome at 3.25pm.
Rome, the ‘Eternal City’, dates back to 3,000 years ago. A heady mix of haunting ruins, awe-inspiring art and vibrant street life, Italy’s capital is one of the world’s most romantic, historic and charismatic cities. The city’s centre is on the Unesco World Heritage List, and the Eternal City has over 900 churches and 3,000 years of ad-hoc urban development to explore, with countless basilicas, piazzas, and statues. Unmissable sights include St Peter’s Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and the Colosseum.
So, why wouldn’t you want to see the best of Rome when it’s reachable in less than six hours from Riyadh? Meanwhile, it’s just a breezy five hours on the return.
Currently, only Saudia and Wizz Air offer direct flights to Rome. Return rates start from SAR2,881 on Saudia and SAR1,370 (SAR860 for a one-way) via Wizz Air’s Quick Travel (which means check-in luggage is not included).
Well, it’s still not too late to make your summer travel plans to Rome…
