Plans have been unveiled for a King Salman Stadium

Sporting events have been a clear win for Saudi Arabia, be it hosting massive fights or major football tournaments, or even winning the bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, the country has delivered time and time again. And now, designs have been revealed for a King Salman Stadium.
Set to seat nearly 92,000 people, the stadium will be located in the north of Riyadh on King Salman Road next to King Abdulaziz Park.

Scheduled for completion by 2029’s Q4, the stadium has been approved by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA). It will also serve as the headquarters of the Saudi national team.
The general plan and design are inspired by the “mountainous land” and integrate themselves into the design of King Abdulaziz Park. The two are linked through the valley that runs through the park surrounding the stadium and the green spaces.
The design of King Salman Stadium contains green walls and roofs with an area exceeding 96,500 square meters. The total area of both the stadium and its sports facilities covers more than 660,000 square meters.
The design also features a range of facilities for various sports activities, and includes several shopping centres and recreational places available to all age groups.
You can also look forward two secondary training fields, fan yards, an indoor gym, an Olympic swimming pool, and an athletics track, in addition to outdoor fields such as volleyball, basketball, and padel courts for practicing various sports activities, which will be available to all age groups.
All of these facilities are connected via a sports track extending nine kilometers around the perimeter of King Abdulaziz Park.
Plans also include a royal box that accommodates 150 seats, 120 hospitality suites, 300 VIP seats, and 2,000 VIP seats.
